Terms of Use

Gordian Limited  ·  Last updated June 2026

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Cadmus tool ("Tool") operated by Gordian Limited ("Gordian Legal", "we", "us"). By using the Tool, you agree to these terms.

1. General information only — not legal advice

The Tool is designed to produce general legal information only. It does not constitute legal advice. The letters and notices generated are based solely on the answers you provide and are intended as a starting point — not as a complete or definitive legal assessment of your situation.

Using the Tool does not create a solicitor-client relationship between you and Gordian Legal. For advice tailored to your specific circumstances, consult a qualified lawyer or use the legal review add-on service.

2. Payment and refunds

Payment is required to download your generated letter. All prices are in New Zealand dollars (NZD) and include GST where applicable. Payment is processed securely by Stripe — we do not store your card details.

Because the letter is generated and delivered immediately on payment, we do not offer refunds once the letter has been generated. If there is a technical failure preventing delivery of your letter, contact us and we will resolve it promptly.

3. Accuracy and completeness

While the Tool is built on sound NZ law, we make no warranty that letters or notices generated are complete, accurate, or suitable for your specific circumstances. The law changes, and the Tool may not reflect the most recent legal developments in all areas. You should not rely on the generated letter as the sole basis for any legal decision.

4. Statutory notices

Some letter types generated by this Tool are statutory notices with specific legal requirements. While the Tool is designed to meet those requirements, the validity of a statutory notice can depend on facts and circumstances not captured by the Tool. We strongly recommend the legal review add-on for statutory notices in high-stakes situations.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gordian Limited excludes all liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of or reliance on the Tool or any letter generated by it. This includes loss arising from acting or failing to act on the basis of a generated letter, inaccuracies in the letter, or any technical failure of the Tool.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

6. Intellectual property

The Tool — including question flows, letter structures, software, and design — is the intellectual property of Gordian Limited. Generated letters, once paid for, are yours to use. You may not reproduce or commercialise the Tool itself.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
